A Brief Word About The "Rules" Of Photography

(I wasn't planning on blogging today, but I came across a great quote and just had to fit in a quick post!) I was reading an article by photographer David Saxe this morning. He was talking about how photography is an emotional medium that is guided by rules, but not bound by them - a sentiment I agree with completely.

At one point, he compares photography to jazz, writing, "The best photography is like jazz. It doesn’t overly concern itself with rules. It reveals the passion of the artist."

This idea is one of the things I love about photography. The deeper you look into a great image, the more it reveals - both about the subject and the photographer.

Well, that's about it. Told you it would be a quickie!

Have a great weekend, everyone.
